A Brief Historical
Perspective
Health for Humanity
Ecuador® is an Ecuador-based
foundation set up to provide the technology developed from 3
decades of studies by the Founder of the North Carolina
Institute of Technology, Dr. Robert Dowling. Dr. Dowling is a
board certified doctor of natural medicine through the World
Organization of Natural Medical Practi tioners (WONMP) which is
now recognized in over 90 countries. The primary objective of
of this group is to provide quality health care to the
economically disadvantaged of the
world.
After serving in the
U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and completing his
undergraduate studies in education and psychology, Dr. Dowling
began his research into degenerative health issues in the
early 1970's when he was invited to participate in a US
Federal Government study concerning children with learning
problems. This massive federal study was designed to find
answers to the difficult issues some children were having in
school, especially those children with average and above
intelligence. The primary objective of the study was to
identify those children who could not sit still and stay
focused on what was being taught and attempt to determine how
to teach them. From the study, a drug was developed, which
continues to be used, along with many new generations of this
class of drugs, designed to help children stay focused on
school tasks. To this day, little has been done by traditional
medicine to determine how to correct the issue, only how
to mask it.
After receiving his
Master's of Education degree from Texas Christian University
specializing in children with learning disabilities, Dowling
went on to further these studies to more clearly define the
issues that create these problems in certain intelligent
children. He was more interested in defining the real issue
rather than covering it up with drugs. After a 3 year teaching
experience at Columbia College developing teaching methodology
for special education teachers to use in the classroom, he
moved to Peru to further his investigation of these children
only to discover that Peru vian children, at that time, did not
suffer from this problem. This fact only verified what the
original study found—that these issues were basically a food
chain problem. Economically disadvantaged Peruvian children
were still eating the fresh raw foods and fish of their
ancestors of over 1000 years.
Little did Dowling
realize while in Peru, that this verification of what was
discovered in the early federal study, would propel him into
studies that continues even to this day, over thirty years
later. His studies moved from food chain issues and learning
problems of children to more intense investigation of
contributing factors, biological and genetic in nature, that
cause degenerative diseases and cancer.
In 1993, Dowling
founded the North Carolina Institute of Technology with this
objective of establishing a research organization to further
develop his studies utilizing talented scientists he had begun
to collaborate with. The Institute was set up as a non-profit
in order to receive donations to help with the research.
Today, 16 years later, the North Carolina Institute of
Technology has become a leader in research and development of
technology second to none in the prevention and cure of many
serious illnesses. It is this very technology that is now
being applied globally for the benefit of mankind.
Health for Humanity Ecuador wants to
thank Dr. Dowling for his contribution to the poor of not only
Ecuador, but the many countries now planning for this
excellent technology.
