Expansion Chamber Design Calculator
My low cost spreadsheet pipe calculator lets you design your pipe for the correct
synchronization between the return waves of the diffuser and baffle and
the engine ports openings and closings. Expansion chambers only purpose
is to have the return waves "in tune" with the engine porting and
exhaust temperature. Other calculators only set the pipe timing by a
generic outdated idea of the tuned length point being half way down the
baffle cone. Read my expansion chamber theory page to understand why
this isn't quite right.
