KILLING LEISHMANIASIS

THERMAL THERAPY

One treatment that is very helpful is altering the parasites temperature by cold or heat. Very uncomfortable, but effective, is holding an ice cube onto each sore for 1 minute daily. This is called cyrotherapy. These parasites are temperature sensitive. Applying heat stuns them also. I stopped using the ice cubes and switched to using freon spray which is something electronics technicians use to test electronic components for differences in output when cooled which can indicate an error in output when running hot. "Freeze Spray" is available from www.allelectronics.com (part # PTR-7400 $13.75/10oz.) and Radio Shack (#FR-777-777 $12). Just spray each sore till it becomes white and painful (from the cold), wait, then spray again, etc. Spray as sparingly as possible too since a heavy flow of spray can cause a really low temperature and guarantee a burn. But depending on how deep the parasites are you need to freeze the area for up to 15 seconds. (see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2889654/) This was an important step for me. Be sure to do it with adequate ventilation since it isn't good for the health to breath freon.

SUGAR-FREE DIET

I found that any and all types of sugar fed the parasites which made the sores worse. (The drug Glucantime works by starving them of sugar. Unfortunately it does the same to the patient and leaves him/her deadly tired.) So I cut out absolutely all sugars from my diet. I wouldn't even eat fruit. This in itself helped tremendously and could be essential to this non-drug approach to killing the leishmaniasis parasite. Before I tried this I had little success with the following treatments so I think it is essential to starve the parasites while attacking them.

BOOSTING IMMUNITY

There's also products from the health food store that can boost ones own immunity (vitamins, DHEA, Maitake extract). That way a person is also attacking the parasites from within, as well as from without. Most important is Proboost Thymic Ptotein A which really does boost the immune system. I felt a definite reduction in parasite activity when taking two packets each day. Also just taking care of ones health in general can improve ones immune systems ability to attack the parasites. Eating as natural as possible, sleeping long enough, drinking pure water, and breathing clean air is all very important.

Host and Executioner
Macrophages are the cells that leshmania infect and reproduce inside. But they also have the responsibility of destruction of this parasite. Activation of macrophages is crucial for eliminating this intracellular pathogen. Macrophages produce nitric oxide which is a toxic molecule that plays a major role in killing intracellular parasites such as leshmania. This information can be read in the 6th paragraph of the study paper "The Early Interaction of Leishmani with Macrophages and Dendritic Cells and Its Influence on the Host Immune Response" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3417671/
Also DHEA has the capacity to improve vascular health by a number of complex processes. One of them is increasing nitric oxide synthesis so it may be beneficial in fighting leishmaniasis.

"Nitrate-rich vegetables, in particular leafy greens, such as spinach and arugula, and beetroot, have been shown to increase cardioprotective levels of nitric oxide with a corresponding reduction in blood pressure in pre-hypertensive persons. A high salt intake was demonstrated to attenuate nitric oxide production in patients with essential hypertension. Nitric oxide is secreted as free radicals in an immune response and is toxic to bacteria and intracellular parasites, including Leishmania and malaria; the mechanism for this includes DNA damage and degradation of iron sulfur centers into iron ions and iron-nitrosyl compounds." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitric_oxide

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

I had read in a book on oxygen therapies that hydrogen peroxide is very potent against all parasites. So then I bought 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and drank a glass of water with a little added to it. I became sickly that night and the next day, so much so that I swore off that approach. Then I started diluting it with water (to around 14%) and applying it externally to the sores on my legs. It stung a lot but little by little caused the sores to diminish and disappear. You can buy a water ozonator (which creates hydrogen peroxide when the ozone reacts with the water) for $129 at www.braintuner.com or you can buy 35% hydrogen peroxide from the health food store or amazon.com. At a health food store owner's advice I then started adding bleach to the diluted peroxide, at 1 part bleach to 1 part 35% peroxide and 3 parts water. This combo seemed to be the most effective. You should soak cotton gauze or toilet tissue with it and then tape it onto the sore. It can be removed after 10 minutes. I did this once or twice a day. I've also used 2 parts 35% peroxide to 3 parts water. I have to warn you that it stings like crazy but passes quickly. Click here for a pdf version of an important study showing H2O2 effectiveness against leishmania in the lab. You can mix it with colloidal silver water or alcohol instead of plain water. If there are scabs on the sores from previous H2O2 treatments then it is best to remove them so that they don't act as protectors (from treatments) of the infected area. For any location on the body other than the scalp the most effective treatment is with hydrogen peroxide and Clorox (actually it's the most effective treatment there also but it will burn the hair off. I know by experience.)

For visceral leishmaniasis you can take it internally by using soft gelatin capsules filled with half-and-half water/peroxide. Just use a hypodermic needle, puncture the end of the capsule, squeeze out the contents, inject the water/peroxide, and swallow with water on an empty stomach. This way most of the contents will leave the capsule when it dissolves in the intestines. The stomach is too sensitive to expose it to hydrogen peroxide but you can put 7 drops in 5 ounces of water and inject it rectally with a rectal syringe (available at amazon.com). That wound up being my method of choice for a while although sometimes it's really hard to hold it in.

ELECTRIFICATION

In this report is this statement: " The parasites also inhibit macrophage apoptosis [self destruction] thus promoting its survival within the macrophage. " This explains to me why blood electrification helped so much. At 4 hertz it causes transfection, a weakening of the cell membrane which allows infected cells to rupture ( type of apoptosis) so that they have less opportunity to replicate inside the macrophages. In the same report is this statement: " Strategies have to be devised to target the anti-leishmanial drugs to the macrophages of the liver or the spleen for effective therapy." I had used the blood electrifier with large pad electrodes on the left and right side of the lower rib cage to electrify the parasites in the liver and spleen and felt better after each long treatment. I believe that was because the electricity caused cell rupture of infected macrophages there as well as increased absorption of drugs when I finally broke down and took conventional drug treatment.

Combinational Treatment
I believe this disease needs to be attacked from as many angles as possible. I recommend doing as many of these therapies as possible. The bare minimum is a low-sugar diet and peroxide or cansema.

Saltwater
I noticed that the infection subsides after being in the ocean and getting the infected area wet. So then I started bringing home from the beach some seawater. The main area of infection was my scalp so I wetted my head with seawater every morning. It helped very much. When I ran out I started dissolving 1 small teaspoon of table salt in water and used that.

Artemisinin
This is the active ingredient in the parasite fighting herb Artemisia. By itself it has been found effective at killing most of the leishmaniasis protozoan. Studies are being run with it in combination with other drugs. It is available from EVitamins by normal purchase. I found that it helped a lot when 1 capsule is swallowed and then blood electrification done at 4 hertz frequency for 30 minutes to cause the blood cells to absorb it and transport it better. I think this may be the best main alternative treatment for people with visceral leishmaniasis. Without blood electrification you have to take 30mg/kg (1500mg for a 50 kg person which is 15 capsules). I recommend using its oil (Mugwort oil) directly on the sores because according to the paper "Antiprotozoa activity of some essential oils" its inhibitory concentration was similar to that of the drug amphotericinoil.

Aloe Vera
Here are some quotes from the paper "Aloe vera leaf exudate induces a caspase-independent cell death in Leishmania donovani promastigotes": "Aloe vera (Aloe berbadensis) leaf triggers an apoptosis-like death in Leishmania parasites. Promastigotes treated for 72 hrs with aloe vera leaf (AVL) showed a similar degree of DNA fragmentation to that observed in miltefosine-treated cells (40 μM, 24 h). The efficacy of AVL against promastigotes of L. braziliensis, L. mexicana, L. tropica, L. major and L. infantum has recently been reported (Dutta et al., 2007). In this study, we have shown that AVL has a similar leishmanicidal effect against promastigotes of L. donovani (IC50=110 μg ml−1. As the maximal activity was identified in the exudate of the [outer] leaf, it was lyophilized and stored at 4°C; in all experiments, the DMSO (Sigma) soluble fraction was used (3.5 mg ml−1)."

Cansema
I found a web site saying that it was effective against leishmaniasis sores and so I got some and tried it. Every sore area turned into one big scab that came off days later leaving a big hole. Not exactly what I was hoping for. Oh well, the holes eventually fill in. It seeps deeper into tissue than hydrogen peroxide does which is helpful if the sore is more than superficial. But you may not know that unless using hydrogen peroxide fails. Then you may assume that the infection is deep. It was extremely painful and the pain lasted much longer than the pain from peroxide treatments. You can start out with Cansema diluted with water to lessen the internal chemical burning of infected tissue. I can't begin to communicate how extremely painful it was. I thought I was going to pass out. But it did nuke the heavily infected areas. It doesn't get the little stragglers around the main areas though. For that you need to follow up with a strong solution of hydrogen peroxide or thermal therapy.

The full moon, at least on me, is when the parasites are least active and easiest to kill. The new moon is when they are most active. So I became the most diligent in my treatments and diet during the week surrounding the full moon to kill more of them, and during the new moon to limit their reproduction.

I got discouraged with lack of progress on my scalp (because I couldn't use strong enough hydrogen peroxide without burning off my hair) and reverted to the conventional drug treatments of Glucantime injections (5ml) for a week and then an average of 1.3 vials daily rectally (since the injections were just too painful). I needed to use 3 a day according to my weight of 145 lbs but my heart hurt too much even at 2 a day. I didn't want to die of a heart attack so I stopped. This incident of failure may be normal for all patients over 50 years of age. So I don't recommend this treatment for anyone over 40. The injections were very painful as if the muscles immediately reacted against it.

Here is a report from someone who emailed me which indicates the failure rate of glucantime:

"I am from Mexico. I got leishmaniasis from working in the jungle of southern México. I was working with some biologists and veterinarians and several of us got it. We all got treated with glucantime for 21 days and 4 out of 5 people treated, me included, required a second dose of it. My best friend developed an allergic reaction against glucantime and didn't finish her treatment. I barely finished mine but it was super painful and left me super debilitated and sore. The lesion I got is on my left cheek and the sore did close but when I got tested again I still had parasites on the closed wound. I tried to do another round of glucantime but got a severe allergic reaction after the first injection. I definitely don't want to put this toxic thing in my body anymore so I am going to try all alternative treatments."

Here is some important bits of info on available drugs:

Pentavalent antimonials have been the mainstay of antileishmanial therapy for over 70 years with second line drugs, Amphotericin B and Pentamidine, used in case of antimonial failure. Since the introduction of miltefosine at the beginning of this century, no new antileishmanial compounds have been approved for human treatment.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19199925

The WHO recommends short-course treatments of miltefosine combined with either amphotericin or the antibiotic paromomycin.

Fexinidazole is 98% effective against visceral form
http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/News/2012/News/WTVM054305.htm

This 2-substituted 5-nitroimidazole drug (Fexinidazole) is rapidly oxidized in vivo in mice, dogs, and humans to sulfoxide and sulfone metabolites. Both metabolites of fexinidazole were active against Leishmania donovani amastigotes grown in macrophages, whereas the parent compound was inactive. Pharmacokinetic studies with fexinidazole (200 mg/kg) showed that fexinidazole sulfone achieves blood concentrations in mice above the EC99 (effective concentration inhibiting growth by 99%) value for at least 24 hours after a single oral dose. A once-daily regimen for 5 days at this dose resulted in a 98.4% suppression of infection in a mouse model of visceral leishmaniasis, equivalent to that seen with the drugs miltefosine and Pentostam, which are currently used clinically to treat this tropical disease.

Miltefosine has mild gastrointestinal adverse events like vomiting (40% of patients) and diarrhea (20% of patients) (for 1 to 2 days). It has been approved in India for treatment of visceral leishmaniasis at a dose of 50-100mg (2.5mg/kg body weight) for 4 weeks.

A recent study in Brazil has demonstrated that Azithromycin, a macrolide derivative structurally similar to erythromycin, may be a good treatment option for cutaneous leishmaniasis caused by L. braziliensis. Azithromycin is an oral medication that can concentrate itself in various organs and tissues; its found in especially high concentrations in phagocytes (leishmania promastigotes taken up by macrophages). Treatments were administered orally according to schedules of 500 mg per day for 3,5, and 10 days and of 1000 mg for 2 days. The study concluded with an 85% cure rate.

(Available from oriental online pharmacy thepharmacyexpress.com as AZEE 30 tablets of 500mg (1.5g) for $89) I tried this at 500mg a day and it did little to help after a week so I increased dosage to 750mg a day and after a week more noticed a lessening of symptoms. It never was completely successful though.

Azithromycin is effective for decreasing L. major promastigotes count in cell-free culture, and L. major amastigotes count in macrophages culture [68]. Two small series [69,70] of L. braziliensis infected patients have been described: azithromycine (500–1000 mg/d, for 2–10 days per month, and a maximum of 4 months of treatment) cured 85% of them.

Oral zinc sulphate was given to Iraqi patients suffering from parasitologically confirmed cutaneous leishmaniasis [78]. The species was not identified but it is known that only L. major and L. tropica are present in Iraq. One hundred and four patients completed the 45 days follow-up. At the end of the follow-up period the cure rates were 83.9% in the patients receiving 2.5 mg/kg, 93.1% in the 5 mg/kg group, 96.9% in the 10 mg/kg group. [that equates to 2mg per pound of body weight if you want to take 10mg per kilogram weight. So for 150 lbs you need 300mg daily. 200mg Zinc Sulphate from UK, 220mg Zinc Sulphate from USA

Be sure to also look up the side effects of these which can be quite strong with Miltefosine being the least bothersome but the hardest to find a source for. It is available free of cost from CIDEIM in Colombia though in case you want a southern vacation.  If you have any questions then please email me at a57ngel@yahoo.com

I received this story: "Hi, I've come back from Ecuador/Peru/Bolivia with leishmaniasis viannia braziliensis. [2 weeks later:] I seem to have got rid of the ulcer. I got an allergic reaction (irritant exema/dermatitis) from all the natural stuff I put on my skin but when this cleared the ulcer had gone. This is what I put on in order :
1. Polutice of raw garlic over night.
2. Poultice of aloe vera overnight.
3. The yellow exudate of aloe vera. Cut a leaf and from out of the green outside a yellowish liquid will come out.
4. Tea tree oil - actually I put this on throughout before and after.
5. Basil essential oil - kills leish but not the phages.
6. eucalyptus essential oil - no idea if it had any effect, just a hunch.
7. Bathed in salt water.
Not sure what worked but the thing is gone."

August 2013: I am now in Colombia taking miltefosine 3 times a day. I had almost no side effects from it at all for the first two weeks. Progress was too slow so I continued to blast the sores with 1 part 50% H2O2 (the local high strength version) and 3 parts water. Using both I started showing some progress. The people at CEDEIM told me it is very slow working and that most people take it for 28 days and then they get healed 3-6 months later. They said it stays in the tissues disrupting the parasites. (Exactly how is unknown.) There were some days I had to reduce the dosage to two pills a day instead of the normal three because it left me toxic and nauseous. That let my body detox a bit. Colombia has gotten a bad rap that scares people from coming here. I find it no more dangerous than any other South American country. Actually it is my favorite southern country so far.

The idea came to me that possibly alcohol may be of some use so I looked it up. I found this quote at http://www.tufts.edu/central/research/IBC/leishmania.html "Promastigotes are susceptible to ethyl or propyl alcohol. However, topical application of alcohol will not kill those released into the blood stream or soft tissue." So it is only good for killing them on the surface. I went ahead and started using it instead of water for my mixture with peroxide. It seemed to help a little and maybe it helps the peroxide to penetrate better.

October 2014: The miltefosine reduced the infection about 80%. I have continued with the low sugar diet and topical hydrogen peroxide. Progress was super slow and so I started again to use refrigerant to freeze the sores. I didn't use the refrigerant in an adequately ventilated area and got toxic from using it and so stopped. It is very bad to breath it since it can cause tumors.

January 2015: Progress continues by potentizing 2 capsules of artemisinin by doing blood electrification at 4 hertz frequency right after ingesting the pills, eating a low sugar diet, and applying hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) solution.

March 2015:   On my scalp it is greatly reduced after twice daily treatments with H2O2 mixed with alcohol, low sugar diet, potentizing Artemisinin, and taking ProBoost and Zinc Sulphate,.

May 2015:  The other day I decided to put on some Frankincense oil (Boswellia sacra) that I had previously bought for use on my skin cancer. The next day all the treated sores were not as inflamed and were less sensitive to the touch so I kept putting it on my head sores at least twice a day and the speed of recovery was noticeable. This is good because it is fast acting and not painful (well it does sting just a little bit). After 2 weeks I switched to Boswellia serrata because the "sacra" was causing me to be dizzy from smelling it. I doubt its use on any other part of the body distant from the nose would of done the same though. So now I do 2 treatments a day, one with Boswellia serrata and one with hydrogen peroxide.

Sept 2015:  I had forgotten how effective my peroxide/chlorox solution was that I used to kill the sores on my legs. So yesterday I made some* and applied it to places other than my hairy head. (my neck and forehead). Today the sores are much reduced so I will continue. With just the alcohol/peroxide on my head the progress is super slow.
* 2 parts chlorox, 6 parts alcohol, 2 parts high strength peroxide (slowly add because at first the chlorox will react and foam up). Probably for store bought peroxide, which is much weaker, you'd have to add 8 parts peroxide to 2 parts chlorox.

March 2016: I still have it on my head but have found something cheaper and more effective than frankincense; kerosene! Don't laugh at that which works. I highly recommend it. Just soak something with it and tape it in place.

German Chamomile oil showed effectiveness against intracellular leish parasites in the lab. Source
It's available from Mountain Rose Herbs

L-arginine has long been identified as an essential amino acid for Leishmania growth. Since L-arginine is essential for the survival of intracellular parasites, a reduced concentration of intracellular L-arginine may exert a detrimental effect on these parasites. [source]

Leish metabolizes (makes use of) fatty acids, specifically palmitic, stearic, and oleic acids, in addition to sugars. So the patient should restrict fatty acids (fats and oils) that contain these 3 acids, as well as limiting sugar. Oils with one or more of these fatty acids are: coconut, corn, cotton seed, hemp seed, linseed, rap seed, olive, palm kernal, palm, safflower, sesame, soy bean, sunflower seed, wheat germ.

The drug Allopurinol is leishmanistatic (doesn't kill 'em but deprives them so they die. By contrast Miltefosine is a leishmanicide, actually killing them. Dosage for allopurinol: 15 days at 20mg per kg body weight (300mg 4x daily; 1.2g per day for 60kg)

If you want miltefosine but it isn’t available for purchase then ask a veterinarian if it is available for use on animals. Here it is called Milteforan.

High-dose oral fluconazole therapy effective for cutaneous leishmaniasis
"We report for the first time the successful use of fluconazole to treat cutaneous leishmaniasis due to Leishmania braziliensis. We used escalating doses from 5 to 8 mg/kg per day [for 5 days]. At a dose of 5 mg/kg per day, 75% patients were cured, and at 8 mg/kg per day, the cure rate was 100%. Fluconazole was well tolerated."

Fluconazole for the Treatment of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Caused by Leishmania major
"We conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in Saudi Arabia of the efficacy and safety of a six-week course of oral fluconazole (a 200-mg capsule once daily for six weeks) for the treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis caused by L. major. At the time of the completion of therapy at six weeks, 23 of the 80 patients in the fluconazole group (29 percent) had complete healing of all lesions. At the three-month follow-up visit, 63 of the 80 patients in the fluconazole group (79 percent) had complete healing."

Mar 5 2021: Yes, I am a persistent bastard. Along with leishmaniasis for the last 15 years I've had Morgellons for 15 months which is a genetically engineered bioweapon that the deep state uses against chemtrails activists. Yes, Penelope, chemtrails are real and they are meant to placate you and dumb you down for the current New World Order takeover that is coming to full bloom with the current overblown epidemic. Any way the last few days the pain of treatment has been really bad for the Morgellons and so I've been drinking 2 or 3 full glasses of red wine daily to ease the pain and after a few days I noticed that the leishmaniasis had greatly subsided. But I continue with treatment for it with MMS and a little Mugwort Oil with alcohol. Alcohol at the sores can kill some of the promastigotes but they also circulate in the blood, so by drinking alcohol you attack them everywhere.

Sept 16 2022
I still have it on my head and I've been using this mix of liquid that I use an eyedropper, slowly squeezing it and moving it across the skin: 6 parts turpentine, 5 parts alcohol, 3 parts mugwort oil, 3 parts tea tree oil. Next I will add Goldenseal extract (hydrastis canadensis) since this research says it helps at least against the donavi strain of leish. I found the extract at Amazon.

Words of Wisdom: For every problem there is a solution. How have I lasted this long without taking myself out? I had a near death experience when I was 15 and so my life is commited to helping others. That's what keeps me going. If you live selfishly then of course you want to commit suicide when the pain exceeds the pleasure of life. But a life of purpose takes you to a whole different level. By email correspondence I knew a woman with leish on her nose and I'm pretty sure she commited suicide. So I know it happens. My recommendation is to put others first and try my treatment suggestions and eventually you will succeed. Nothing can stop a positive attitude. You can write me at health@dragonfly75.com

all the best to you! Any useful stories you share with me will be presented here with your consent.
